Good morning this is Luke, with your Folly beach surf report and forecast for Monday, October 9th at 8:30 a.m.

We have wetsuits on the floor for men and women. Tops, Spring, and Full Suits. Come get ready for cold weather surfing with Ocean Surf Shop.

Surfs pretty flat this morning looks like a great morning to fish. Ankle to knee high at best.

Winds are south-west 5-10 mph and the surface is clean this morning.

Low tide is at 10:45 a.m. High tide will fill in at 5:06 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.3ft at 9 seconds in ESE swell.

Surf as expected has dropped considerably. Surf should stay somewhat down early work week. Looking ahead we have lots of moisture in the western Gulf of Mexico this week that looks to lift to the north-east off our coastline towards the later half of the week. Models are hinting at a potential low developing over/near our marine area. Winds will rotate strong onshore as a result and surf will begin a building trend. It’s a complex scenario this week either way I believe we will have a significant swell maker mid-late work week this week. Giving the close proximity of these systems timing of a cleanup is still somewhat up in the air. My take is later Friday/Saturday winds should become more favorable.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “ High pressure will prevail into the middle of the week. A series of disturbances will bring unsettled conditions the second half of this week, followed by a cold front early in the weekend.”

 Water temperature is around 74*.

It’s 53* sunshine much cooler out this morning. Look for a high of 74* today and sunshine. Beautiful fall day.

Sunrise is at 7:17 a.m., and sunset will be at 6:57 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
