windy and drifty
Good morning, this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast Monday, Sep 1st at 8:15 a.m. Happy Labor Day!

At the pier it is running about thigh to waist high on the sets. It is windy and drifty, so if you want to get your morning workout in bring it. Also it is a little chilly this morning before the day warms up.
Winds are north/north-east at 18 with gusts around 28 mph. Winds stay pretty steady out of the NNE all day.
Low tide is at time of report, and high tide will be at 3:31 p.m. The next low tide is at 9:46 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is showing medium period swell from the east 2.3ft. at 8 seconds; with a dominant short period east/north-east wind swell 5.9 feet at 6.7 seconds.
Waves continue to with the northeast winds. This should continue through Wednesday as strong northeast winds continue to dominate the next few days. There may be a clean up one morning later this week. Keep your expectations low though. There is some activity forecasted off the coast of Africa this week. We will keep an eye on it and let you know if anything worthwhile is to be expected.
Our friends at NOAA predict: “High pressure will extend across the area through late week. A cold front will approach from the northwest late in the weekend.”
Water temperature is around 82*.
It’s cool at the beach this morning. It’s 68*. Look for a high of 80* and sunshine. Wind stay pretty steady all day.
