Monday, Sept. 13

Clean early, some bump later.

Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Knee.
Traffic: Not too bad.
Parking: Yes.
Dangers: No.

Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, September 13 at 8:30 a.m.

Our friend Gary Wilson just brought a whole bunch of boards to the shop. Come check them out while we still have some in stock.

Surf at the Washout is knee-high. Not too much bigger than that.

Winds are north-west at 5 knots, and surf zone is very clean. Just bring the longboard if you want to get wet.

Look for winds to go more north-east mid-morning at 5 knots, rotating easterly at 10 knots mid-afternoon. We see semi-choppy, small surf this afternoon.

We had a low tide around sunrise this morning, and high tide is at 1:55 p.m. The next low tide will be at 8:12 p.m.

The Edisto buoy is reading 2 ft. at 7 seconds in a medium period east/south-east swell.

We have small surf today and into the beginning of the work week with high-pressure setting up over our marine area. An area of low pressure is expected to form north of the Bahamas in a few days. This could be our next wave maker mid-week into late week. Something to keep an eye on for development. There is also a vigorous tropical wave coming off the coast of Africa. It’s a long way out. But look for possible development of this system. It could be a wave maker about two weeks out.

Your National Weather Service Marine Weather Forecast for our area calls for: “High pressure will prevail through the middle of the week. Low pressure will pass far offshore Thursday as it moves north. Weak high pressure will then prevail into next weekend.”

It’s 75* this morning and mostly cloudy. Look for a high of 83* with plenty of sun all day.

Water temperature is around 83*.

Sunrise is at 7:02 a.m. and sunset will be at 7:28 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
