Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, September 27 at 8:30 a.m.
Surf at the Washout is flat-to-knee high.
The surf zone is very clean with north-west winds at 5 knots.
Winds will stay moderate today, with south winds picking up at 5 to 8 knots this afternoon. It’s pretty much perfect fall beach weather.
Tide is coming in. High tide is at 12:47 p.m., and low tide will be at 7:10 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading 2 ft. at 9 seconds in a medium period easterly swell.
It is another beautiful morning on Folly beach as we start fall. There isn’t much surf in the forecast early this week. It may be possible to get a ride on a log but you’re better off getting your work done and getting ready for late week when long-period swell from Major Hurricane Sam begins to filter in to our beaches with light local winds and warm weather. Looks like another beautiful swell coming with no need to pack the sandbags and put up plywood. Let’s hope we stay so luck for the rest of hurricane season.
Your National Weather Service Marine Weather Forecast for our area calls for: “High pressure will remain the dominant feature through next weekend.”
It’s a beautiful 70* and sunny. Look for a high of 81* and sun today. Awesome fall weather here.
Water temperature is going down. It’s 80*.
Sunrise is at 7:11 a.m. and sunset will be at 7:09 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
