Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, September 16 at 8:30 a.m.

We have all of our men’s board-shorts, hybrids and walk-shorts marked 20% off at the shop. As well as our Fall women’s and men’s gear filling up the shop. Come check it out.

Surf at The Washout this morning is running head high with an over-head set. IT’s definitely good out here this morning. Probably the best we’ve had this year so far.

Winds are north with semi-clean waves with a moderate drift from north to south, down the beach.

Look for north-east winds to pick up this afternoon, and this could spoil the clean conditions. But still swell all day.

We have a high tide at 9:47 a.m., and a low tide will be at 3:55 p.m. The next high tide is at 10:10 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 6 ft. at 10 seconds in a big south/south-east ground-swell.

Surf at the Washout is running head high with overhead sets in a south-east ground sswell courtesy of Hurricane Humberto. It’s as good as we have seen it this year at Folly THIS MORNING. North-east winds this afternoon could spoil the party. Look for the swell to continue as Humberto swings right off the coast out to sea. Surf fades but cleans up a bit on Tuesday into Wednesday. Likely still ridable, but without the size and power we’ve seen for the last several days.  Long range also has the eastern Atlantic firing up as well. Lots to watch over the course of the next 10 days.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for:
“Tropical Cyclone Humberto will move away from the coast
through mid week. A cold front will advance through the area Wednesday,
followed by high pressure into next weekend.
Refer to the latest advisory on Humberto issued by the National Hurricane Center.”

It’s 76* at the beach this morning and sunny. Look for a hot day with a high of 88* and sun.

Water temperature is 83*.

Sunrise is at 7:03 a.m. and sunset will be at 7:24 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
