Semi-choppy

Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Knee.
Traffic: Moderate
Parking: Some.
Dangers: None.

Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, September 25th at 8:30 a.m.

As the morning temperatures begin to cool off, come by and check out the wet-suit jackets and spring suits we have in stock. Come and get’em before they are gone.

Surf has come up a touch in SW wind-swell showing knee maybe thigh. Overall not looking to hot, choppy and weak.

Winds are currently south-west at 10-15mph and the surf is choppy. Look for continued SW winds today.

Low tide at 10:41 A.m. today with high tide filling in at 5:16 P.M.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 3.3 ft at 5 seconds in short period SW wind-swell.

Some minor SW wind-swell showing this Monday morning winds are onshore and its not looking to great but its enough to shove a longboard. Surf stays relatively down until mid week. Late weds into the end of our work week we will have unstable weather producing ENE winds and we should see some high angled wind-swell as a result mid-late week. We have Tropical Storm Phillipe still heading our general direction still a bit early to tell what we may see from that system but something to keep our eyes on. Also lots of moisture looks to hang around Florida over the weekend some models are starting to sniff out a low being produced around Florida early next week. Lots of uncertainty but plenty of hope. For now late work week is our best bet just keep expectations in check ENE winds will be blowing.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “Potential Tropical Cyclone Sixteen will impact the region to our north today. High pressure will build across the region Saturday and remain in place through early next week. An unsettled weather pattern could impact the area by the middle of next week. Refer to the latest advisory on Potential Tropical Cyclone 16 issued by the National Hurricane Center.”

 Water temperature is around 82*.

It’s 75 and sunny this morning, look for temps to climb into the mid 80s with sunshine prevailing.

Sunrise is at 7:07 a.m., and sunset will be at 7:17 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
