Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, Nov. 1
Hope everyone remembered to set their clocks back an hour last night.
As of Monday morning, we will be moving to our winter hours now that the time has changed. We will be open from 10 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Surf at Folly is waist to belly high and looks decent.
Winds are coming from the south around 5-10mph this morning giving the surf some slight texture/chop.
Look for winds to clock more offshore later today out of the west 10-15mph. This should help the surf cleanup a bit.
We have a high tide at report time, and low tide will be at 2:09 p.m.
Edisto Buoy is down. Virtual buoy data is showing 2.9 ft in ENE swell at 6 sec. Also a 2.2ft ESE swell at 8 sec.
Surf is looking somewhat inviting this morning showing waist to belly high sets in mixed up swell. Look for a afternoon cleanup as winds rotate around out of the west around the 2pm low tide. This swell fades and things start slow for our work week. Models are picking up onshore flow to begin mid-week as a high pressure moves off the NE coast. This will build our surf waist to chest high or so. Also we have Tropical Storm ETA in the southwestern Caribbean that looks to finally push north over Cuba and into our general marine area late week enhancing our onshore flow and looking to build our surf. Models are still not to aligned or consistent at the moment for the long term but certainly something for us to keep our eyes on.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “A strong cold front will move across the area tonight. High pressure will return on Monday and persist through late week.”
It’s 68* and pleasant outside sun mixed with clouds. Look for a high of 77* with sun today. We have perfect fall beach weather.
Water temperature is 72*.
Sunrise is at 6:37 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:30 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
