Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, November 29 at 8:30 a.m.
We will be open from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for normal operations today.
We received a limited number of Album, Catch Surf and Ben Gravy soft-boards. Come get them before they are gone.
Surf at Folly is Knee high and weak overall.
Winds are light out of the north north-east putting some texture to it.
Look for winds to begin rotating more southerly and increasing 15-20mph+ chopping the surf up.
We have just come off a high tide at 7:00 a.m. low tide will follow at 1:07 p.m
Virtual buoy data showing 2.6ft at 4 seconds in easterly swell.
Surf is basically flat at report time not looking to inviting today. A strong cold front approaches today when wind swell will be on the increase out of the south. Hopefully this front passes through before dark Monday and we can have a bit of a cleanup sesh Monday afternoon as winds are forecasted to clock around out of the west. The surf gets blown flat Tuesday and into the mid work week. Models looking consistent with yesterdays runs with our low coming off central Florida late work week and bringing our surf back to life for next weekend. We will keep you posted. Also be prepared for much cooler water temps after this week.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “High pressure will give way to a weak low pressure system near the coast later today. A stronger storm system will then affect the region tonight into Monday. Cold high pressure will then slowly build in and persist through the rest of the week. Low pressure will then form off the Carolina coast by the weekend.”
It’s 63* cloudy with passing showers this morning. Look for a high of 70* today and cloudy skies with rain in the forecast.
Water temperature is around 65*.
Sunrise is at 7:01 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:13 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
