Wave Forecast: Waist-shoulder+
Traffic: somewhat busy
Parking: some to be found
Dangers: None

Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, Nov.7 at 8:30 a.m.

We have moved  to our winter hours now that the time has changed. We will be open from 10 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Surf at Folly is waist-to-shoulder high and will build with the incoming morning tide push.

Winds are north north/east at 5-10 kts. Surf-zone is side-shore, a bit drifty from north-to-south, and it’s semi-choppy.

Look for winds to increase from the north-east this afternoon at 15, gusting to 20. Surf gets choppier this afternoon, with continued drift down the beach.

Low was before sunrise at 5:42 a.m High tide will be at 12:06 a.m., and low tide will be at 6:34 p.m.

Edisto Buoy is down. Virtual buoy data is showing 6.7 ft. at 9 seconds in a medium period east/south-east swell.

Surf looks fun this morning while the winds are currently light. Surf showing shoulder high sets in drifty/semi choppy conditions. Later today things will deteriorate with strong onshores. This swell last through the weekend.  Also, we have Tropical Storm Eta approaching the southwestern Caribbean late in the weekend that looks to perhaps push into south Florida late this weekend into early next week, enhancing our onshore flow and looking to build our surf significantly as high pressure stays anchored to the north-east. Models are still not to aligned or consistent for the long term but certainly something for us to keep our eyes on, for continued, bigger surf into next week.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “High pressure will persist north of the area through the weekend before shifting into the Atlantic early next week as Tropical Cyclone Eta tracks into the eastern Gulf of Mexico. A cold front

will approach the region later in the week.”

It’s 68* with sun behind high clouds this morning. Look for a high of 78* with some clouds and a 50% chance for rain today.

Water temperature has dropped to 68*.

Sunrise is at 6:41 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:24 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
