Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, Nov.7 at 8:30 a.m.

We have moved  to our winter hours now that the time has changed. We will be open from 10 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Surf at Folly is waist-to-shoulder high and will build with the incoming morning tide push.

Winds are north north/east at 5-10 kts. Surf-zone is side-shore, a bit drifty from north-to-south, and it’s semi-choppy.

Look for winds to increase from the north-east this afternoon at 15, gusting to 20. Surf gets choppier this afternoon, with continued drift down the beach.

Low was at 6:45 a.m.  High tide will be at 1:08 p.m., and to conclude the tide another low at 7:36

Edisto Buoy is down. Virtual buoy data is showing 8.8 ft. at 8 seconds in a medium period east/south-east swell.

Surf looks fun this morning while the winds are currently light. Surf showing shoulder high sets in drifty/semi choppy conditions. Later today things will deteriorate with strong onshores. This swell curtesy of an offshore high pressure last into the start of the work week. Onshore winds will be the fly in the champagne. Also, we have Tropical Storm Eta approaching the southern Gulf of Mexico and looks to further strengthen but remain somewhat stationary through much of the work week west of Florida coast. Still Etas outer  bands could produce an onshore flow for us and generate more surf. We will keep you posted on Eta details as things progress. Either way we have tons of surf on offer this week if you want to put in the work.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “High pressure will persist north of the area today before shifting into the Atlantic through midweek as Tropical Cyclone Eta meanders over the southeastern Gulf of Mexico. A cold front will approach the region late week and could stall over or near the area.”

It’s 68* with sun behind high clouds this morning. Look for a high of 78* with some clouds and a 50% chance for rain today.

Water temperature has dropped to 68*.

Sunrise is at 6:41 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:24 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
