Good morning, this is Scott with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday, January 14 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at The Washout this morning is flat – shin high.

Winds are north-west at 10 knots, and surf zone is sheet-glass clean.

Look for winds to stay the same all day but slightly subsiding in the evening.

We have a low tide at 11:27 a.m. We have a high tide at 5:34 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 5.2 ft at 5 seconds in a medium period east/south-east swell.

It is flat at the low tide this morning, but possibly high tide could produce a fun longboard wave. Keep an eye on Sunday as we have a stormy wind swell that appears to be hitting. It will be choppy and disorganized and the wind switch in the afternoon will allow the swell to fade quick, but Monday morning could be the best time to go so check back in for more updates tomorrow.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “High pressure will prevail through the end of the week. Strengthening low pressure will track across the region Saturday night and Sunday followed by colder high pressure into mid week. Another cold front could impact the area Thursday.”

It’s cool and sunny this morning. It’s 45*. Look for a high of 59* today with mostly clouds.

Water Temperature is hovering around 56* after this little cold snap.

Sunrise is at 7:23 a.m., and sunset will be at 5:36 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
