small chop

Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: FLAT
Traffic: going to be a lot
Parking: very limited when taste of Folly starts
Dangers: Taste of Folly

Good morning, this is Scott with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, January 15 at 8:30 a.m.

Taste of Folly is today so come by for a good time! Center Street will be closed, however.

Surf at The Washout this morning is flat.

Winds are north-east at 7 knots, and surf zone is choppy.

Look for winds to stay the same all day.

We have a low tide at 12:12 p.m. We have a high tide at 6:18 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 3.6 ft at 7 seconds in a short period wind swell.

Another flat morning on Folly, but with the low-pressure incoming and building tomorrow there should be big drifty surf tomorrow with nice clean leftovers on Monday morning. We expect the surf to subside very quick on Monday so get out as soon as you can if possible.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “High pressure will prevail today. Strengthening low pressure will track across the region tonight and Sunday followed by colder high pressure into mid next week. Another cold front could then move through late Thursday followed by even colder higher pressure.”

It’s sunny this morning and 48*. Look for a high of 59* today with mostly sun.

Water Temperature is hovering around 56*.

Sunrise is at 7:23 a.m., and sunset will be at 5:37 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
