Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: knee high
Traffic: none
Parking: plenty
Dangers: none

Good morning, this is Scott with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday January 28  at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at The Washout this morning is knee high.

Winds are 8 knots from the north, and surf-zone is clean.

Look for winds to dissipate switch west this afternoon.

Low tide will be at 10:26 a.m. High tide is at 4:21 p.m., and low tide will be at 10:32 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 5.2 ft. at 7 seconds in a short-period wind-swell.

It is pretty meager today, especially at the lower tide right now. Maybe the higher tide will produce some better rides but nothing special on the forecast today.  The following days are looking very slow as it’s expected to be flat every day. Keep an eye on the middle of next week because we may have some big wind swell kicking in but we will update that closer to next week.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “Low pressure will develop well offshore today and move northeast tonight and Saturday. Cold high pressure will build in from the west tonight through early next week followed by some unsettled weather late in the mid week period”

It’s 40* at Folly Beach this morning. It’s sunny with some clouds and will be all day with a high of 49.

Water Temperature has gone down again. It’s hovering around 50*.

Sunrise is at 7:18 a.m., and sunset will be at 5:49 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
