Ocean Surf Shop Surf Report 02/03/2022

semi-choppy

Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: thigh-waist high
Traffic: moderate
Parking: enough
Dangers: none

Good morning, this is Scott with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, February 3 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at The Washout this morning is thigh-waist high and decently choppy.

Winds are southeast at 7 knots, but look for winds to angle more south later in the day.

It is almost high tide right now; low tide will be at 3:36 pm. The next high tide will be at 9:53 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 4 ft. at 7 seconds in a short-period north-east wind swell, much of which is headed past our beaches.

There are some solid lines forming out there. It is disorganized to an extent, but it is very surfable. The air temp is perfect this morning at about 65 but that is only supposed to rise. The water will be cold, but I would say it is worth it to go if you can, especially with a larger volume board. Be ready, because it looks like this swell will get bigger and better as we transition into the weekend.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “A cold front will move through the area Friday and Friday night with an offshore low pressure system bringing unsettled weather at times into early next week. Another coastal low could brush the area mid next week.”

It’s 61* at Folly Beach this morning. It is cloudy and will be all day with a glimpse of sun.

Water Temperature dropped to 49* with this cold snap, hopefully it can bounce up a few degrees by the weekend..

Sunrise is at 7:14 a.m., and sunset will be at 5:55 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
