Good morning, this is Scott with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, February 8 at 8:30 a.m.
Surf at The Washout this morning is about shin-high.
Winds are north-west at 4 knots. It is clean and glassy.
Look for winds to shift a little bit more north and never getting past 6 or 7 knots.
High tide is at 1:25 this afternoon, and low tide will be at 7:23 this evening.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.6 ft at 8 seconds in a short period swell.
After yesterday’s fun run of swell there isn’t much activity in the water. It appears we have hit a little flat spell for the foreseeable future. It is possible it could get up to thigh high sets at the higher tide today and maybe you could get a few log rides but keep the expectations low on the day.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “High pressure will prevail across the region through the end of the week. A coastal disturbance could impact the region early next week.”
It’s 46* at Folly Beach. It is cloudy. Look for a high of 53* today with clouds and a chance for showers.
Water Temperature is around 50*.
Sunrise is at 7:10 a.m., and sunset will be at 5:59 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
