Ocean Surf Shop Surf Report 03/19/2022

semi-choppy

Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: thigh-waist
Traffic: moderate
Parking: plenty at the moment
Dangers: busy in the afternoon

Good morning, this is Scott with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, March 19 at 8:30 a.m.

I apologize for the poor photos this morning. The SD card in the camera broke so I had to use my phone, but there was some sick ones!

We will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for spring hours with the time change. Back to long, lazy afternoon sessions.

Surf at The Washout this morning is thigh – waist high. The sets are moderately disorganized at high tide, but it looks pretty fun.

Look for southern winds at 11-14 knots this afternoon, eventually going south-west at 15 knots in the afternoon.

We have a high tide at 9:23 a.m. Low tide is at 3:30 p.m., and high tide will be at 9:48 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.1 ft at 10 seconds out of the south-east with a medium-period swell.

The size has picked up since yesterday, however, it is disorganized and jumbled at the moment. Low tide is going to drain out all of the swell so if you are anticipating surfing, early would be best or possibly a little while after low tide to try and catch the tide push.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “A cold front will move through this evening with high pressure returning for early next week. Another storm system will then impact the area mid next week.”

It’s currently 64* this morning. Look for a high of 73* and a potential for showers and thunderstorms today.

Water Temperature is around 63*.

Sunrise is at 7:26 a.m., and sunset will be at 7:31 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
