Good morning, this is Scott with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, August 3 at 8:30 a.m.
Surf at the Washout this morning is thigh-to-waist high. The outgoing tide is starting to drain it out but the latter part of the day will have some increased size paired with the incoming tide so keep an eye on the afternoon.
Winds are west-north-west at 3 knots, and surf zone is clean.
Look for winds to rotate south to south-east at around 2-7 knots this afternoon, and surf should pick up later today. Surf could clean up in showers and storms this afternoon.
We have a low tide at 10:32 a.m., and a high tide at 5:05 p.m. The next low tide is at 11:22 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading 3.1 ft at 7 seconds in a short period south/south-east wind swell.
This afternoon should be a fun day if everything falls together as reported. The incoming tide push paired with the southern winds and showers should make for a fun afternoon to go get some solid rides in.
