Good morning, this is Scott with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, August 22 at 8:30 a.m.
Surf at the Washout is knee high. There isn’t too much left over at all from Henri.
Winds are south-west at 11 knots. Surf zone is clean.
Winds are predicted to go more south today picking up to 15 knots this evening, so surf should become a little bit textured.
Tide is almost high taking place at 8:31 a.m. We have a low tide at 2:26 p.m., and a following high tide at 9:02 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading 3.9 ft. at 5 seconds in a short period westerly wind swell.
This morning has nothing left over from Henri, you might be able to get a ride or two on a log but keep the expectations low. It is possible we have a groundswell that could form sometime later this week. In the meantime, keep an eye out for Tuesday and we will keep you updated daily.
Your National Weather Service Marine Weather Forecast for our area calls for: “The region will remain positioned between an inland trough and Atlantic high pressure through early next week. Then high pressure will dominate the region for the remainder of next week.”
It’s 78* this morning and there’s some fog outside. Look for a rainy day with a high of 83* and thunderstorms this afternoon.
Water temperature is around 85*.
Sunrise is at 6:49 a.m. and sunset will be at 7:58 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
