Good morning, this is Scott with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, August 30 at 8:30 a.m.
Surf at the Washout is shin-knee high.
There’s a west-south-west wind at 6 knots. Surf is glassy and very flat at the mornings low tide.
Today is probably a better day to be productive in something else, however the high tide is showing possibilities for a longboard wave so keep an eye on it as the tide comes in if you’re dying to get out.
Winds will stay west between 1-6 knots; however, it is going to shift south and pick up to 10 knots by 6 p.m.
We are coming off a low tide this morning. High tide is at 2:30 p.m., and low tide will be at 8:45 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading 1.8 ft. at 9 seconds in a short-period east-south-east swell.
It is a beautiful day today at the beach; however, the waves are virtually flat especially with the low tide. Keep an eye on the afternoon but don’t get your hopes up for a great surfing day. If you’re on the island stop by the shop, we always to love to see you!
Your National Weather Service Marine Weather Forecast for our area calls for: “High pressure will prevail across the area through Tuesday. A cold front will then pass through the region during the middle of the week before high pressure returns late week into the weekend.”
