clean

Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: stomach - shoulder high
Traffic: a lot at the washout
Parking: limited
Dangers: be safe in the water

Good morning, this is Scott with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday, September 10 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at the Washout is waist-to-shoulder high with a rare head high set.  It’s a bit soft at the higher tide, but there are some nice lines. It is very crowded but looks very fun.

Winds are north-north-west at 6 to 8 knots, surf is clean.

Look for winds to rotate east-north-east and late tonight east.

High tide is at 11:04 a.m., and low tide will be at 5:12 p.m. The next high tide is at 11:16 p.m.

The Edisto buoy is reading 4.7 ft. at 16 seconds in a building, long-period south-east ground swell.

Today is day two of Larry and it appears it will be the last day of swell from that storm. This afternoon should still be fun with sets coming in at stomach to shoulder high but expect a small amount of texture on the water this afternoon. If you can surf, go today because the swell appears to be dying off tomorrow.

Your National Weather Service Marine Weather Forecast for our area calls for: “High pressure will prevail this weekend and persist through the middle of next week.

It’s 71* this morning and partly cloudy. Look for a high of 81* with plenty of sun and hopefully not too hot.

Water temperature is around 83*.

Sunrise is at 7:01 a.m. and sunset will be at 7:34 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
