Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: knee - thigh
Traffic: none
Parking: plenty
Dangers: none

Good morning, this is Scott with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, September 18 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at the Washout is knee-thigh high and very clean.

It looks pretty soft with the higher tide, but the water looks beautiful. I’d just recommend a longboard if you’re going out.

Winds are north-north-west at 5 knots.

Winds stay east this afternoon and get no more than 7 knots.

We have a high tide at 6:33 a.m., and a low tide at 12:32 p.m.

The Edisto buoy is reading 2.0 ft. at 7 seconds in a short period east/south-east swell.

There isn’t much of a wave out there today and it looks like there won’t be the rest of the weekend as the south-east region has been dry. There appears to be a cold front coming in and potentially developing into some swell on Friday.

Your National Weather Service Marine Weather Forecast for our area calls for: “A wet weather pattern will prevail this weekend into the middle of next week. A cold front should then move through during the second half of next week, followed by high pressure prevailing into next weekend.”

It’s 76* this morning and cloudy. Look for a high of 84* with sun and some clouds today.

Water temperature is around 82*.

Sunrise is at 7:06 a.m. and sunset will be at 7:23 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
