Good morning, this is Scott with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, September 25 at 8:30 a.m.
Surf at the Washout is knee to thigh high with an occasional waist high set.
The surf zone is very clean with winds blowing 7 knots north-north-west.
Winds will taper down to about 4 knots this afternoon and it will switch to a westerly wind.
High tide is at 11:24 a.m., and low tide will be at 5:32 p.m. The next high tide is at 11:40 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading 2.7 ft. at 8 seconds in a medium period, easterly wind-swell.
You couldn’t ask for a more beautiful fall morning. Enjoy the boardshorts while you can because it’s almost that time of year again. Today is going to best around the mid-high tide and I would recommend a log or fish for todays wave. After today it will be slowing down a bit, however, keep an eye on hurricane Sam around next weekend. It looks like this could be another fun one.
Your National Weather Service Marine Weather Forecast for our area calls for: “High pressure will prevail through the middle of next week. A cold front will move through Wednesday night, followed by high pressure from the north.”
It’s a beautiful 62* and sunny. Look for a high of 79* and sun today. Awesome fall weather here.
Water temperature is going down. It’s 80*.
Sunrise is at 7:11 a.m. and sunset will be at 7:13 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
