clean

Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: knee-waist high
Traffic: none
Parking: plenty
Dangers: none

Good morning, this is Scott with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday, October 9 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at the Washout is knee-to-waist high. It’s not quite as big as yesterday but the sets look fun with a bigger board.

Winds are north at 9 knots, and surf is clean.

Look for north winds all day at 7-10 knots.

High tide is at 10:48 a.m., and low tide will be at 4:59 p.m. The next high tide is at 11:01 p.m.

The Edisto buoy is reading 2.4 feet at 8 seconds in a south-east swell.

The surf is very clean this morning and fun on a higher liter board. Try and get out at the morning high tide because the low tide will drain everything out. It appears tomorrow will be similar and maybe even better than today so keep an eye on the report tomorrow.

Your National Weather Service Marine Weather Forecast for our area calls for: “A complex storm system will bring periods of unsettled weather through Saturday. Weak high pressure will then build into the region and persist through the following week.”

It’s foggy and 71* this morning. Look for a high of 78* today. We should see mostly cloudy skies and rain showers in the area today.

Water temperature is 79*.

Sunrise is at 7:20 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:55 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
