clean

Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: knee high
Traffic: none
Parking: plenty
Dangers: none

Good morning, this is Scott with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, October 23 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at the Washout is pretty small today (knee high), but absolutely gorgeous.

Winds are west-north-west at 4 knots, and surf zone is clean

Look for westerly winds the rest of the day and it should gradually die down as the day goes on.

We have a high tide at 10:13 a.m., and a low tide will be at 4:23 p.m. The next high tide at 10:29 p.m.

The Edisto buoy is reading 2.3 foot at 4 seconds in a very short-period south/south-west wind wave.

We have a small and clean surf zone this morning with beautiful fall weather. It seems to be the time of year it will really start to cool down the water. It’s possible to get a ride on a log but there isn’t anything too special. I wish I had a better future forecast as well but there is not anything spectacular on the radar.

Your National Weather Service Marine Weather Forecast for our area calls for: “High pressure will prevail through the weekend, followed by a cold front Monday night into Tuesday. High pressure will then briefly return, before a stronger cold front impacts the region later in the week.”

It’s 61* and sunny.  It should stay sunny all day with a high of 78.

Water temperature is 74*.

Sunrise is at 7:31 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:39 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
