Good morning, this is Scott with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday, October 29 at 8:30 a.m.
Surf at the Washout this morning is big, unorganized, drifty, and blown out and shoulder high.
Winds are south-west at 15 knot and will stay this way for the remainder of the day.
Tide will be coming in very shortly, and high tide will be at 2:52 p.m. The next low tide will be at 9:19 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading 7.2 ft. at 7 seconds in a short period easterly swell.
There is size today, but the winds are going to be troublesome all day. It appears to be surfable, but it is very messy and drifty so keep an eye on the wind if you decide to go out. The pier looks like it might be handling the wind a little bit better than the washout so that is something to note as well.
Your National Weather Service Marine Weather Forecast for our area calls for: “A low pressure system will impact the region through Saturday. High pressure will return on Sunday and prevail through the middle of next week.”
It’s 67* and mostly cloudy this morning. Look for a high of 69* today. Should be cloudy all day.
Water temperature is 73*.
Sunrise is at 7:36 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:33 p.m.
