slightly choppy/drifty

Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.

Dangers: just washout parking

Good morning, this is Scott with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, October 30 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at the Washout this morning is about knee-waist high, looks to have a drift to the north and winds are blowing onshore.

Winds are west at 9 knot and will stay this way for the remainder of the day.

Low tide is at 9:33 a.m. and high tide will be at 3:51 p.m.

The Edisto buoy is reading 5.2 ft. at 6 seconds in a short period westerly swell.

It has calmed down from yesterday which is looking to be a good thing. There Is still some wind and texture on the water but as long as the swell holds up, there should be a fun wave at the higher tide. As for the remainder of the week it doesn’t look too promising until hopefully next weekend.

Your National Weather Service Marine Weather Forecast for our area calls for: “A low pressure system will move northeast away from the area today. High pressure will return on Sunday and prevail through the middle of next week. A cold front will drop through the area on Wednesday.”

It’s 55* and mostly sunny this morning. Look for a high of 67* today. Should be sun all day.

Water temperature is 72*.

Sunrise is at 7:36 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:32 p.m. Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
