Ocean Surf Shop Surf Report 11/06/21

windy and drifty

Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: chest high
Traffic: none
Parking: plenty
Dangers: flooding, wind, drift

Good morning, this is Scott with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday November 6 at 8:30 a.m.

The time change takes place on Saturday. We will move to our winter hours starting Monday. Hours will be 10 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. We will close at 5 p.m. on Sundays.

Surf at The Pier this morning is stomach to chest high. It looks breezy and drifty but surfable for sure.

Winds are strong from the north/north-west at 19 knots with a higher gust and that will increase all day.

We have a high tide at 9:40 a.m. and low tide will be at 3:52 p.m. The next high tide will be at 9:54 p.m.

The Edisto buoy is reading 10.8 feet at 9 seconds in a short-period easterly wind swell.

The cold front has been noticeable the past two days and we are seeing the first larger day on Folly to start off the winter season. The wind and drift are kicking so keep that in mind but there is absolutely some size out there. I think for conditions the next three days will be the best option but there will be a drop in the size.

Your National Weather Service Marine Weather Forecast for our area calls for: “A coastal storm will bring unsettled weather to our area through Saturday night. High pressure will then build into the region next week.”

It’s 46* and raining this morning. Look for cold weather and rain all day with a high of 56. Beware of coastal flooding for today and tomorrow.

Water temperature is going down. It’s now 69*. It’ll drop to the mid-60s by early next week.

Sunrise is at 7:43 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:26 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
