Good morning, this is Scott with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, November 20 at 8:30 a.m.
Surf at The Washout is thigh-to-waist high. It is currently drifty and windy.
Winds are north at around 15 knots, and surf zone has some slight texture to it.
Look for winds to stay about the same all afternoon
It is high tide right now (8:11 a.m.), low tide will be at 2:22 p.m. and the following high tide will be at 8:28 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 7.1 ft. at 7 seconds in a small, short period east-north-east wind swell.
It shouldn’t be a problem getting any waves today with the size but beware of the drift and the wind. It is pretty blown out and, it’s a colder morning. The winds will drop a few knots in the afternoon but it won’t make much of a difference, so I think right now with the high tide is the best bet. Keep your eyes on the cams tomorrow and Monday because the conditions look prime for a fun day on Folly.
Your National Weather Service Marine Weather Forecast for our area calls for: “High pressure will build over the region today and will prevail through this weekend. A cold front will move through Monday, followed by high pressure through late next week.”
It’s 46* and sunny this morning. Look for a high of 60* today with sunny skies.
Water temperature is now 60*.
Sunrise is at 6:55 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:17 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
