Ocean Surf Shop Surf Report 12/11/21

clean

Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: knee-thigh
Traffic: none
Parking: plenty
Dangers: fog

Good morning, this is Scott with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, December 11 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at the Washout is knee-to-thigh high. Should push a waist high set on the incoming.

It’s extremely foggy and hard to see, so beware of that.

Winds are south at 4 knots and the surf zone is very clean. Look for winds to pick up as the day continues.

Tide is coming in, and high tide will be at 2:03 p.m., and low tide will be at 8:06p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 3.0 ft at 10 seconds in a small east/south-east swell. There is a small, short period east south-east wind swell mixing in.

If you’re going out today, bring the best board for the smallest waves. There could be a few fun log rides, but it is small today. There is a cold front building tonight, so tomorrow morning at the incoming tide will probably be the best bet for the weekend and then it appears we’re back into a flat spell.

Your National Weather Service Marine Weather Forecast for our area calls for: “A cold front will approach the area from the west today, then move off the coast by Sunday morning. Dry high pressure will return behind the front and persist through much of next week.”

It’s foggy and 65* this morning. Look for a high of 71* today with clouds most of the day.

Water temperature is 59*.

Sunrise is at 7:13 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:15 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
