clean

Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: knee-thigh
Traffic: none
Parking: plenty
Dangers: none

Good morning, this is Scott with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, July 21 at 8:30 a.m.

We will be closed today at 1 p.m. to complete several computer upgrades. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Surf at the Washout this morning is knee-thigh-high and looks to be pretty meager. There will be a little bit of choppiness to the water this afternoon.

Winds are west at 6 knots this morning. Surf zone is very clean.

Look for west-south-west winds at 6 to 14 knots today, and surf zone stays bumpy and semi-choppy later today.

We have a low tide at 12:00 a.m., and a high tide at 6:42 p.m.

The Edisto buoy is reading 2.5 ft at 4 seconds meaning nothing worth calling out of work is headed our way. The Atlantic region looks dry of any tropical cyclones meaning we will be staying quiet at least for the next 5-6 days. As for today, this morning looks possible to get a few log rides but even that is unlikely. If you are dying to get in the water, get out early to avoid the added texture later in the day.

Your National Weather Service Marine Weather Forecast for our area calls for: “Atlantic high pressure will persist through Friday. A weak front will drop through the area Friday evening, then Atlantic high pressure will rebuild early next week.”

It’s cloudy this morning and 77*. Look for a high of 86* today with rain showers this afternoon.

Water temperature is around 84*.

Sunrise is at 6:27 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:26 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
