Good morning, this is Scott with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, June 24 at 8:30 a.m.
New Carver surf-skates have arrived at the shop. Come snag one before they are long gone.
Surf at Folly is thigh-to-waist high with a larger set. It’s inconsistent, blown out, and pretty mushy.
Winds are north-east at 17 knots, and surf is very choppy.
Look for winds to die down as the day continues. It will turn north/north-east in the latter part of the day which will continue to add texture to the water.
Tide is going out. Low tide is at 2:06 p.m. and high tide will be at 8:47 p.m.
The surf is very disorganized, choppy, and drifty. There is probable a few wedgy rides but there will not be much face to surf. There may be an increase in size as we get closer to high tide, but it will more than likely still be mess in the water. I would keep expectations low for great surf but there is size if you really want to get in the water!
Your National Weather Service Marine Weather Forecast for our area calls for: “High pressure will remain over the area through tonight. A coastal trough will then move over the area Friday through Saturday. High pressure will rebuild Sunday through the middle of next week.”
It’s 75* and sunny at the beach. Look for a high of 79* and clear skies today.
Water temperature is around 83*.
Sunrise is at 6:14 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:32 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
