clean, slight chop

Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: thigh-waist high
Traffic: none
Parking: plenty
Dangers: none

Good morning, this is Scott with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday, November 19 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at The Washout is thigh-to-waist high. It looks fun at the higher tide right now.

Winds are north at around 15 knots, and surf zone has some slight texture to it.

Look for winds to stay about the same all afternoon

Tide was high just around sunrise. Low tide will be at 1:43 p.m. High tide will be at 7:53 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 3.6 ft. at 8 seconds in a small, short period south-east wind swell.

The swell has arrived on Folly this morning. The higher tide is definitely the time to go so get out now if you can make it. It appears the swell will hold until Sunday with tomorrow having particularly high gusts of wind. The hope is that Sunday is the day to go with lighter winds.

Your National Weather Service Marine Weather Forecast for our area calls for: “High pressure will build over the region today and will prevail through this weekend. A cold front will move through Monday, followed by high pressure through late next week.”

It’s 58* and cloudy this morning. Look for a high of 61* today with mostly cloudy skies.

Water temperature is now 60*.

Sunrise is at 6:54 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:18 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
