Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, October 12 at 8:30 a.m.

The Follypalooza cancer benefit will take place today on Center Street, so come on out party, eat and support a good cause. The weather should be perfect.

Also, the Carolina Surf Film Festival is coming up next weekend – that’s Friday, October 18 and Saturday October 19. Tickets and more information available at carolinasurffilmfestival.com.

Surf at The Pier this morning is knee high with thigh high sets a waist set is possible.

Winds are from north at 10 knots, keeping the surf zone clean, but you’ll want a longboard for your session this morning.

We see winds calm to at 5 to 10 knots from the SSW today in the afternoon hours.

We have a high tide at 7:35 a.m and a low tide will be at 1:36 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 3.6 ft. at 12 seconds in a long period east/south-east ground swell.

Surf looks fun for the logs this Saturday morning running knee-thigh with a slightly larger set on this mornings high tide. Winds are currently offshore and clean conditions should last into late morning before winds switch SSW and chop it up. Looking ahead this swell dies out over the next few days before we have a decent cold front swing through bringing in a very quick shot of south wind-swell mid week.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will prevail through tonight. A weak cold front is forecasted to approach from the west on Sunday, then become stationary near the area until a second, stronger cold front moves through during the middle of next week. High pressure returns for the second half of next week.”

We have glorious weather at the beach. It’s a cool 66* and sunny this morning. Time for some neoprene. Look for a high of 80* and sun all day.

Water temperature has dropped to 77*. Get a spring suit.

Sunrise is at 7:19 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:53 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
