Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, October 18 at 8:30 a.m.

There are no more parking restriction at Folly Beach. Parking is now available on Center Street and all side-streets.

Surf at Folly is showing waist high in drifty semi-choppy conditions.

Winds are moderate out of the north-north/east making for drifty conditions.

Look for winds to lighten up a bit out of the north/east 10mph for the afternoon.

Look for a high tide at 9:46 a.m. with a low at 3:53 P.M.

Edisto Buoy is down. Surfline data is showing 6.1 ft at 7 seconds in NE wind-swell passing our shores mostly.

Surf has picked up since yesterday showing waist high sets. Its drifty and semi-choppy overall don’t get to excited but certainly rideable this Sunday morning. This NE wind-swell should slowly fade to start our work-week but should remain rideable. Look for surf to pick up some mid-week curtesy of our Low beginning to take shape south-east of Bermuda which is now invest 94l. This should pick surf up in Easterly ground-swell beginning Wednesday. We also have a low showing on the models forming late week in the southern Caribbean near Cuba. Tropics seem to be waking up again after a prolonged dormant period. We will keep you in the loop but some surf in the forecast!

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “High pressure and a weak coastal trough will persist into late week. Next weekend, a cold front could push into the region then could stall near the Southeast coast.”

It’s 65* a bit chilly this morning with sun and high clouds at the beach this morning. Look for a high today around 76.

Water temperature is 74*.

Sunrise is at 7:23 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:46 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
