Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, Oct. 19th at 8:30 a.m.

The Carolina Surf Film Festival is THIS weekend – that’s Friday, October 18 and Saturday, October 19; at Tradesman Brewing Co., downtown. Tickets and more information available at carolinasurffilmfestival.com.

We will have the full line of Billabong and O’Neill jackets, full-suits, and spring suits on the floor. Get ready for some cooler weather. Looks like waves on the way next week.

Surf at the Washout this morning is ankle to knee in building SE wind-swell.

Winds are ESE at 15+ knots making for choppy unorganized surf.

We see winds stay SE through the day although picking up rapidly sometimes gusting over 40mph.

We have a high tide at 12:06 a.m, and a low tide will be at 6:30 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.3 feet at 3 seconds in E wind swell.

Surf at the washout is knee high and blown out not looking good at the moment. That low in the Gulf is now Tropical Storm Nestor and is currently over the Florida Panhandle. Look for Nestor to build our surf rapidly through the day into the head high plus range in tropical storm conditions. As Nestor moves to our north overnight look for our winds to begin rotating more favorably out of the NW. Sunday morning looks to be a fun one chest high with plus sets and clean conditions. Looking into the work week the Nestor swell dies off into early work week.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “Tropical Storm Nestor will weaken as it moves from the northern Gulf of Mexico through the local area today and tonight. High pressure will briefly build in Sunday into Monday before a frontal system affects the area Monday night and Tuesday. High pressure will rebuild late Tuesday through Thursday before another storm system potentially moves in late week.

It’s 67* and cloudy skies as Nestor comes close. Look for windy rainy conditions all day due to Nestor. Look for a high of 71* and mostly sunny skies.

Water temperature has dropped to 76*.
