Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday, October 30 at 8:30 a.m.
Surf at Folly is waist-to-stomach with a chest set clean but very drifty SW wind-swell.
Winds are moderate-strong out of the west 15mph+ Look for winds to clock more NW and begin to weaken later today resulting in cleaner conditions.
We are coming off a high tide at report time, low tide will be at 1:52 p.m.
Edisto Buoy is down. Virtual buoy data is showing 7.2 ft at 6 seconds in SW wind-swell.
Surf looking decent this morning showing up to Chest high sets in fresh SW wind-swell curtesy of last nights cold front. This swell will drop quickly with the dropping tide this morning and heavy offshore winds knocking it down. Looking into the weekend strong NE swell will build throughout all the Western Atlantic. Most of which will pass on by but incoming tides throughout the weekend could push some of this energy our way. This trend continues into the start of the work week. Things look to change in the long range as high pressure moves off the NE coast and begins a more onshore flow for us here at Folly.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “High pressure will prevail into the weekend. A cold front is expected to move across the area Sunday night. High pressure will then persist through late next week.”
It’s 58* and noticeably cooler with sunshine this morning. Look for a high of 75*
Water temperature is 74*.
Sunrise is at 7:35 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:30 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
