Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, October 6 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at The Washout this morning is pushing thigh to waist+ looks fun early.

Winds are from the north at 5-10mph early and surf is clean.

Look winds to rotate more easterly throughout the day picking up into the 10-15 mph range.

We are coming off a low tide at report time 8:30 high tide will be at 3:21 p.m

The Edisto Buoy is reading 5.6 at 7 seconds in E wind-swell.

Today, surf looks fun early washout is seeing waist plus surf and clean. Could build a bit on the incoming tide push but winds should also pick up and add some chop later this morning. Winds could mellow out some to start the work week, but the swell will have a high easterly angle, so we’ll see what pushes into Folly Beach, but don’t be surprised to see some bigger, choppy surf Sunday. The wind could back off some on Monday, and perhaps clean up this high-angled easterly swell that’s forecast early week. Should be something to ride.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will continue through tonight. A wave of low pressure will pass far offshore Monday, before a cold front shifts through the area Tuesday. High pressure will then prevail
mid to late week before another cold front approaches the region late weekend.

It’s 72* and cloudy this morning much cooler outside look for a high today of 81.

Water temperature is still 82*, but expect that to drop into the mid-70s in the next 10 days.
