clean faces, textured

Time of Report: 8:00 a.m.
Wave Forecast: knee to waist
Traffic: none
Parking: plenty
Dangers: chill in the air!

Good morning, this is Annie with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, Dec. 11 at 8:00 a.m.

We have re-stocked all of our cold water accessories, including booties, gloves and hoods, so come on by when the swell picks up this weekend.

Surf at Folly this morning is averaging thigh to waist high this morning.

Winds are N at 15 knots, with some larger gusts. Faces are clean, but there is a little texture developing this morning.

Low tide will be at 1:08 p.m. and high tide will be at 7:10 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 5.2 at 8 seconds in a south-easterly swell, with N winds just coming into the mix.

We have a quick shot of chilly, off-shore wind on today after yestersday’s warm weather. Thursday into Friday, surf (and wind) should be kicking right back up into an even stronger north/easterly swell Thursday and Friday. Winds go off-shore sometime Saturday depending on the timing of the low, and hopefully will clean up some east swell, which fades out some on Sunday. For now, look for a mixture of high and low pressure systems taking turns over the next several days.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “Strong high pressure will build north of the area through Thursday. A low pressure system will impact the area late week, followed by a return to high pressure during the latter half of the weekend. A cold front will cross the area by the middle of next week.”

It is 54* with partly cloudy skies this morning. Look for a high of 57* today with mostly cloudy skies.

Water temperature is now 57*

Sunrise is at 7:10 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:13 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
