Good morning, this is Annie with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday, November 8 at 8:30 a.m.
Waves at the pier this morning are running waist to stomach high.
Winds are NE at 18 knots and surf is side shore, mushy and pretty disorganized, however there is a shoulder to ride.
We wind to shift SE this afternoon becoming SW tomorrow morning.
High tide is coming up at 8:43 a.m., and low tide will be at 2:55 p.m. The next high tide will be at 8:51 p.m. The Edisto buoy is reading 5.2 ft at 8 seconds in an ENE wind swell with ESE swell. A few waves this morning, but it’s quite mushy as we approach high tide. Expect similarly high-angled NE wind swell over the weekend with cooler temps being brought down from the north. As a cold front approaches the area, look for lingering storms mixed in, possibly creating small pockets of clean surf. Looks like mostly disorganized, cooler surf for our weekend.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A stationary front will remain just south of the area today. A cold front will sweep through tonight followed by cooler high pressure over the weekend. A storm system will affect the area Monday and Tuesday followed by colder high pressure.”
It’s 65* and cloudy this morning. Look for a warm day with a high of 74* with clouds and a slight chance of scattered showers.
Water temperature is 68*.
Sunset is at 5:22 p.m. and sunrise will be at 6:43 a.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
