semi-clean

Time of Report: 8:30 AM
Wave Forecast: waist to stomach, occ bigger
Traffic: none
Parking: plenty
Dangers: cold

Good morning, this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, January 13 at 8:30 a.m.

The water temperature went UP to 44*, so put on your neoprene if you plan on surfing this mid-week swell. We have booties, gloves and hoods.

Surf at the Washout this morning is waist to stomach high with chest sets in ESE swell. It should get a push with the incoming tide early afternoon, but it still looks pretty fun.

Surf is bumpy and semi-clean. It looks like another fun morning of surf but will fade through the day

Winds are west at 15 to 20 knots, and we expect winds to decrease this afternoon NW at 10 to 15 knots this afternoon, with bumpy, semi-clean but fading surf all day.

Low tide is at 11:19 a.m., and High tide is at 5:25 p.m.

Edisto buoy is reading 8.2 ft. at 9secs in a combination of east/south-east swell and south-east wind swell.

Look for fun, semi-clean south-east ground swell to continue for the beginning of today. We see winds trend westerly at 15 to 20 knots this morning, and surf may increase in size as the tide comes in early afternoon if the wind doesn’t beat it down. Sunday see’s leftover south-east swell average thigh to waist high with off-shore winds. Could be a nice clean long-board session for Sunday. We see small but long-boardable south-east ground swell for next week.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A cold front will approach from the west today and move through the area this evening. A secondary front will arrive Saturday night. Cool high pressure will then settle over the area Sunday into early next week before another front brings even colder air for the second half of next week.”

It is a chilly 39 with clouds this morning. Expect a high of 58* with sun and clouds today.

Water temperature is at 44*.

Sunset is at 5:33 p.m. and sunrise will be at 7:22 a.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
