Saturday, April 17

Very clean, early. Should get choppier this afternoon.

Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Flat to knee-high.
Traffic: Not too terrible, for a Saturday.
Parking: Some.
Dangers: None.

Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, April 17 at 7:30 a.m.

We just received a shipment of mid-length surfboards from Solid Surf in San Diego and a bunch of great short and long-boards from Greg Geiselman at Orion Surfboards in New Smyrna Beach. Come check them out. We are stocked up with some beautiful boards.

Surf at The Washout this morning is flat with a knee high set.

Winds are north/north-west at 5 knots, and surf-zone is clean.

Look for winds to switch to the south west at 5 to 10 early afternoon, and increase 15 to 20 late day.

Tide is now coming in, and we have a high tide at noon. Low tide will be at 5:51 p.m.

Virtual buoy readings are showing 1.1 ft. at 11 seconds in a long period, high-angled east/north-east swell.

A front stalls off-shore today through early next week, and it’s looking like light winds for the next four days and there is not much swell in the forecast. Not the best forecast, but it can’t stay small forever, even though it feels like it sometimes.

Your National Weather Service Marine Weather forecast calls for: “A stationary front will linger offshore and to the south into early next week. A cold front will move through the region during the middle of next week, followed by high pressure.”

It is cloudy and 59* this morning with a light rain shower. Look for a high of 69*, with sun and clouds mixed this afternoon.

Water temperature is around 68*.

Sunrise is at 6:45 a.m. and sunset will be at 7:51 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
