Good morning, this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop report and forecast for Saturday, April 20th at 8:30 a.m. It’s already smelling a little funky this morning down at the beach. Surf at the Pier is around knee-thigh high and glassy this morning. Waves are a little soft favoring the bigger boards. There is a small swell in the water so may be worth bringing your board out and enjoy the little sneaky sets that may roll in.
Winds are light out of the west/southwest this morning. Winds are expected to pick up to around 10-15 knots later today.
We have a low tide at 12:23 pm. We have a high tide at 6:47 pm.
Edisto Buoy is reading 3.0 ft at 9 seconds out of the east/southeast.
There is some swell showing on the buoys so it’s likely there will be something to ride throughout the day, especially if the wind holds off until late in the day. Sunday may have a little wave in the morning as well. We have northeast winds picking up Sunday evening into Monday. Could give us a sizable wave as we move into the beginning of the week.
NOAA Marine Forecast: “A slow moving front will bring unsettled weather to the region this weekend. High pressure will then return and prevail into the middle of next week.
The water temp is around 67. It is 74 and sunny mixed with clouds. Look for continued sunshine today with a high of 81*
Sunrise is 6:43 a.m., Sunset 7:53 p.m.
That’s all from us at Ocean Surf Shop. We’ll check back tomorrow.
