Good morning this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, April 22 at 8:30 a.m. Happy Earth Day – go do something nice and pick up some trash, plant a tree, go for a hike, get in a surf. Enjoy the day outdoors.
Surf at Folly is waist to stomach high with some plus sets on this morning high tide. It’s a little bumpy out there with the wind.
Winds are 14 knots out of the southeast. Winds may drop to 5-10 knots out of the south depending on how this front passes through
We have a high tide at 10:16 a.m. A low tide will follow later this afternoon at 4:08 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 4.6 feet at 5.6 seconds in short period south swell.
Surf has picked up a bit to waist-stomach high with some bigger sets on this morning’s incoming high tide. The wind is on it so it is a bit choppy. The wind is supposed to back down a little during mid day, then kick back up during the late afternoon. Tomorrow morning could clean up, but size depends on how hard it blows overnight. Mid-week next week looks to have another cold front approach and produce a more significant SSW swell for us. Could be a worse forecast I think their will be opportunities to get wet within the next week!
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “A cold front will move through our region this evening, followed by High pressure early next week. A storm system is expected to bring impacts to our region during the middle of next week.”
Its 68* this morning with the sun trying to peek through the clouds. Look for temps to begin to climb into the mid 70s with a chance of showers in the evening .
Water temperature is 69*. Them fish are biting.
Sunrise is at 6:42 a.m., and sunset will be at 7:54 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
