Good Saturday morning, this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for April 27 at 9:00 a.m.
We have a ton of spring-suits and jackets in the shop, so as we get some spring swell, come check it out and stay warm with Ocean Surf Shop.
Surf at the Pier is running around thigh high and is pretty choppy with the easterly winds this morning.
Winds are currently pretty strong out of the East about 13 mph. Winds are forecasted to bounce between east and southeast all day around 10-15 mph.
We have a high tide approaching 10:35 a.m. with the tide dropping out to low at 4:35 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading 3.6 feet at 6.2 seconds in short period East swell. This is mixed with 3.9 feet at 5.6 seconds in a short period ENE wind swell.
Today we should see the surf continue to build with windy conditions out of the east. Nothing great, but something to play around with on. Sunday should have a little wave with winds backing down a little to around 7-10 mph. This trend continues Monday which may be the cleanest day with lighter onshore winds in the morning. We will continue to see an onshore flow during the week living a little surf, but likely semi choppy all week.
Your National Weather Service Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will prevail through much of next week. A weak cold front could approach late next week.”
Water temperature is hovering right around 70, so spring suits and jackets are the call for mornings and evenings. It’s a currently 68 sunny mixed with clouds and breezy. Today will be partly cloudy with a high of 73* and windy.
Sunrise 6:35 a.m., Sunset 7:58 p.m.
That’s all from us at Ocean Surf, check back tomorrow.
