Good morning this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, April 29 at 8:30 a.m.
We have a ton of spring-suits and wetsuit jackets in stock here at the shop. Get ready to get into the water for the weekend’s swell.
Surf at Folly thigh to waist. It’s fairly clean, but dumpy at the washout with the dropping tide. Maybe try somewhere that handles a lower tide better for the rest of the morning.
Winds side/offshore SW 8 knots. Look for winds out of the south at 5-10 knots today.
Low tide is approaching at 9:56 a.m. high tide will fill in at 4:15 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 3ft at 7 seconds from the SE.
Surf is decent this morning with the dropping tide and fairly clean. If the wind holds off there may be some surf on the incoming tide today so, so worth looking at. Going into the week we have a series of springtime disturbances crossing our marine area Sunday and Monday Surf should pick up again in a windy south south-west wind swell on Sunday, and there will likely be a windy clean-up sometime on the high tide Monday afternoon. For the latter part of the week its looking pretty flat.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “A storm system will impact the region today into Sunday. A cold front will then cross the area Sunday night, with high pressure returning to the region towards the middle of next week.
Its 72 this morning with partly cloudy skies. Look for a high of 77 with some partly cloudy skies this afternoon and thunderstorms late day.
Water temperature is 72*.
Sunrise is at 6:34 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:00 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
