Good morning, this is Brad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, April 3 at 8:30 a.m.
We just received a shipment of Torq surfboards for spring. Come check them out.
With travel restrictions starting to be lifted at some foreign surf destinations, you’ll need a travel bag, and we are fully stoked.
Surf at The Washout this morning is ankle to knee and looks pretty terrible.
Surf zone is semi-choppy and slightly drifty down the beach.
Winds are north-east at 6-8 knots with a mildly higher gusts.
Look for north-east winds to remain below 10 knots this afternoon.
We have a high tide at 1:37 p.m., and a low tide at 7:33 p.m.
Virtual buoy readings are showing 2.3 ft. at 4 seconds in a high-angle, short-period, north-east wind swell. This is passing by our beaches.
High pressure brings strong off/side-shore winds and fading surf to the beach today. Winds/swell pushes off-shore into the weekend, when surf goes small and we see unseasonable cool temperatures. Forecast for meaningful waves looks pretty dismal thought the middle of next week. There may be some potential late next week, but we will keep you posted as the forecast unfolds.
Your National Weather Service Marine Weather forecast calls for: “Dry and cool high pressure will build across the region through the weekend and prevail through mid-week. Warmer conditions will return early next week.”
It is pretty cold out here this morning. It’s 45* with sun. Look for a high of 57* and sun today.
Water temperature is around 61*. It will drop to 60* with this cold snap, but should be on the rise next week with warmer temperatures in the forecast.
Sunrise is at 7:04 a.m. and sunset will be at 7:41 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
