Good morning! This is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, Aug 10th at 8:15 am. The sun is back and the skies are blue!!!
Waves are looking pretty fun this morning running around waist high and fairly clean with the light morning winds.
Winds are west/southwest at 6mph this morning. Look for winds to pick up out of the south around noon today at 12 mph.
Low tide was at 6 am, high tide today will be at 12:36 pm. Next low is this evening at 6:37 pm.
Edisto buoy is showing 4.3 ft at 7.1 sec in a medium period east/south-east wind swell.
There is some fun looking morning surf right now. Could be good for a while if the winds hold off. Winds will pick up later today. Possibly could be the same for tomorrow morning. As we head into the week the surf should drop for a few days. We are keeping our eyes on a disturbance in the Atlantic now that is showing a chance of formation mid week or so. So may be some solid surf next weekend. Fingers crossed.
NOAA forecast: “A stationary front will remain just to our west through early next week before dissipating. Weak high pressure will build in from the north during the middle of next week.”
