Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, August 24th at 7:30 a.m.
Surf at The Pier this morning is in the ankle-to-knee high range.
Winds are North-north/east at 5 knots and semi clean early.
Look for winds from the east today at around 10 to 12 knots making for choppy crossed up conditions later in the afternoon.
We are coming off a low tide, and high tide will be at 3:00 p.m. The next low tide will be at 9:26 p.m. Surf stays down for your Saturday knee high at best. Invest 98L off the southern coast of Florida is trying to get its act together. What we see from this all determines if it develops any further currently NWC has it at 70% of development. Either way looks like it could pop a wave up for Sunday/Monday keep your eyes peeled on it. Also our disturbance just east of the Barbados area is looking more healthy this morning as it slowly moves westward. This system is a ways out but is one to watch as well. Besides the tropics not a whole lot going on locally over the next few days so all eyes should be on the tropics!
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A cold front will cross through the region today and tonight, then stall near the coast on Sunday. Low pressure is expected to pass well offshore early next week, before another cold front impacts the area later in the week.”
The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.6 ft. at 7 seconds in a combination of small medium period east/south-east swell, and a small south wind swell.
It’s 78* with sunshine mixed with clouds Look for a high of 86* with a 70% chance of a thunderstorms today.
Water temperature is around 85*.
Sunrise is at 6:47 a.m. and sunset will be at 7:56 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
