Wave Forecast: Lake Folly.
Traffic: Not too bad, early, but it's in the mail.
Parking: Early, yes. College kids will wake up about 11 a.m.
Dangers: Jellyfish are thick. Lots of stings reported.

Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, August 20 at 8:30 a.m.

We just received a shipment of Catch Surf Logs in 6’, 7’, 8’ and 9’. Come snag one before they are all gone again.

Yours truly forgot to put the dang memory card in the camera this morning, so after driving to The Washout and back, I don’t have pictures. It would just depress you anyway. The waves are as flat as I’ve seen ‘em in a while, but it is a pretty morning.

Winds are light from the north. Surf-zone is clean. Best for a flat-water SUP paddle.

Look for winds to go south at 5 to 10 this afternoon, and surf zone will be mainly clean today between frequent showers and thunderstorms.

Low tide is at 8:57 a.m., and high tide will be at 3:33 p.m. The next low tide is at 9:59 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 2 feet at 5 seconds in a small east/north-east short period swell. Nothing showing at the beach.

Not much swell at the buoy, and waves are flat this morning. It’s looking pretty small through the weekend, with no real swell makers in our vicinity, and a stalled frontal boundary lingering in in our marine area. We could see a slight uptick in sell early in the work week. I’d emphasize “slight.” Some charts are showing an increase in wave size about 10 days out, and there should be some hurricanes to track by late next week. Keep your eye on it.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “A stalled front will linger in the vicinity through the middle of next week.”

Water Temperature is around 83*.

It’s 75* with sun this morning. We see a high of 83* today with passing clouds and some on-and-off rain/thunderstorms in the area all day.

Sunrise is at 6:46 a.m., and sunset will be at 7:59 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
