Good morning this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, December 10 at 8:30 a.m.

The Folly Beach Christmas Parade takes place from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Today, so make sure to keep that in mind if you plan to surf … or to party.

We have tons of new men’s O’Neill wet-suits in stock. Come check them out and enjoy this upcoming swell.

Waves at the Pier this morning are waist to stomach high with rare chest high sets at the higher tide. No one is really out, and it looks OK for the high volume board.

Winds are north at 15 to 18 knots, and surf is side-shore and semi-clean with a significant drift down the beach from north-to-south.

We see north-east winds at 10 to 15 today, and surf zone should have a bit of chop in it this afternoon and a drift today.

We had a high tide around 8:53 a.m., and low tide will be at 3:17 p.m. The next high tide will be at 9:16 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is kind of all over the place with a nice south-east ground swell 3.6 feet at 11 seconds and a short-period east/north-east wind swell 5 feet at 6 seconds.

There should be plenty of waves at the beach today, but the quality won’t be perfect with north drift in the surf zone. It should clean up some on Sunday into Monday for a fun little session as swell continues from the now departed, mid-Atlantic low that pushed us some fun waves for us during the middle/end of the work week. Next week, we will see increasing north-east wind swell with drifty, choppy conditions before this swell rotates more on-shore Thursday. Either way, there should be some surf to ride, even if it’s not perfect.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “A wedge of high pressure will prevail into Sunday with a nearby trough offshore. Another area of high pressure will build in early next week, before low pressure and a cold front impact the region during the middle of next week.”

It’s 52* with “’Da Drizzle for shizzle.” Look for showers today and a high of only around 58*.

Water temperature is still around 61*.

Sunrise is at 7:11 a.m., and sunset will be at 5:14 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
